The Avengers Dead Duck

THE AVENGERS OFFICIAL NOVELISATIONS

Moon Express by Norman Daniels

This was the fifth and final US-sourced Avengers paperback, and the fourth to feature Tara King.  First published by Berkley Medallion books in February, 1969, the cover-style for this, and for the previous book, The Magnetic Man, was also used for the second editions of the John Garforth-written Mrs. Peel books.  Its worth noting that this book features Mrs. Peel on the cover but she does not appear in the text.   As far as I know, this was the only edition of it in any language.  If anybody has come across translations of it, please let me know.  If you can supply a scan of the cover even better.

From the back cover:

A trip to the moon?  That's exactly what someone is offering: a trip to the moon, and a chance to select for oneself a large slice of lunar real estate!

Breathes there a man, woman or child with soul so dead they wouldn't jump at such an opportunity?  Or who would quibble over the cost?  (One would expect it to be astronomical.)

One thing is certain: Her Majesty's Government isn't behind this hush-hush project.  Who is?

Nothing will do but for John Steed and Tara King to get themselves invited to participate in this expensive venture, unmask the organisers, and find out precisely what they are up to.

It's THE AVENGERS all the way - even when it means the moon!
