The Avengers Sing

7" Vinyl

Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman - Kinky Boots / Let's Keep It Friendly (Decca F11843, February 1964), Great Britain.
Oh yes, its that record. Reissued twice, adopted by French and Saunders, and written by the men responsible for Peter Sellers' Goodness Gracious Me. Incidentally, has anybody ever come across an original 1964 copy of this record with a picture sleeve?

Linda Thorson - Here I Am / Better Than Losing You (Ember EMB S257, 1968).
It's not clear whether there was any reference to Linda Thorson's role in The Avengers in either the publicity or on the rear of this single.

Linda Thorson - Here I Am / Better Than Losing You (EMI Columbia DCB 143, 1968).
This is the Belgian release of this single.

Linda Thorson - Here I Am / Better Than Losing You (Epic EPC 7063, release date unknown).
This is an intriguing one as it names both Tara King and The Avengers on the cover. The image looks slightly more sophisticated than the 'sweet girl' look on the sleeves above. If anybody out there is worried about the missing accents in that text, please feel free to correct it and send it to me.

Linda Thorson - You Will Want Me / Here I Am (Ember EMZ 006/E, 1968).
Judging by the catalogue number, it looks like this one could have been a promo. It is a beauty, mind you, and is possibly the only contemporary non-theme Avengers record that features characters from the show.

Honor Blackman - Before Today / I'll Always Be Loving You (CBS Records CBS 3896, December 1968), Great Britain.
It is believed that this may have been available a promotional demo only. More information would be most welcome.

Honor Blackman - Men Will Deceive You / Tomorrow Is My Turn (Garrison Recording, no catalogue no., November 23rd 1971), USA.
This is an odd one. The copy I have is a metal acetate test pressing, so I have no idea if this was ever issued, nor which label it was meant to be on. The two tracks are from 'Everything I've Got', but why they should be issued seven years later is unclear. Any information on this will be gratefully received.

Diana Rigg - Forget Yesterday / Sentimental Journey (RCA Records RCA 2179, March 1972), Great Britain.
There has been the suggestion that this was only available from theatre where the play this was taken from was running. Any clarification of this would be welcome.

Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman - Kinky Boots / Let's Keep It Friendly (Cherry Red Records, Cherry 62, 1983). Great Britain. Also available as a 12" single, 12 Cherry 62), with extra track Theme from The Avengers by The Roland Shaw Orchestra and a different picture sleeve.
See above.

Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman - Kinky Boots / Let's Keep It Friendly (London Records, KINKY1, November 1990), Great Britain. Also available as a 12" single (KINX1) with a remix of Kinky Boots, a cassette (KINMG1) with no extras, and a CD (KINCD1) with two tracks from Honor Blackman's solo LP, I Wish I Never Loved You and Men Will Deceive You.

Honor Blackman - Everything I've Got (Cherry Red Records BRED 49, July 1983), Great Britain.
This reissue (with a monochrome cover instead of the original's colour one) contains Kinky Boots and Let's Keep It Friendly from the Blackman/Macnee single as well as the following tracks:

Honor Blackman - Kinky Boots (Decca 884 0571, December 1990), Great Britain.
This is a straightforward reissue of 'Everything I've Got', and contains the same tracks as the original. It's not clear whether this was issued on vinyl or CD.
